Closing Session

The closing session was moderated by Prof. Aamer Ikram, IANPHI Vice-President.

It started with Dr. Eduardo Samo Gudo who presented the final Maputo Declaration. The audience had the opportunity to quickly comment the final document.

Then, Dr. Gudo expressed deep pride and gratitude for the successful meeting and the adoption of the Maputo Declaration, emphasizing its importance in transforming public health. Lastly, he thanked his team and partners for their dedication and hard work.

Dr. Ali Muneer Al Rahma, head of public health programs and studies at the Public Health Protection Department of Dubai Health Authority, took the floor to invite all participants to the next IANPHI Annual Meeting, which will be held in Dubai in 2026.

Finally, Prof. Selbie thanked Dr. Eduardo and his team for the organization of the event and wished everyone safe travels, emphasizing the honor of being part of the event. He also clarified the IANPHI Secretary General transition from Anne-Catherine Viso to Neil Squires, explaining that during the 2-week gap, he will be the interim secretary general.
