Extraordinary General Assembly April 2026

On April 8, 2026, the International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI) convened an extraordinary general assembly online to address key decisions initially planned for the IANPHI Annual Meeting.

Held in the context of the postponement of the Dubai meeting due to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, the assembly ensured continuity in governance and decision-making, with quorum reached and active participation from members worldwide.

During the meeting, members approved two major strategic documents:

  • The revised IANPHI Framework for the creation and development of National Public Health Institutes, reflecting updated global public health functions and country-specific contexts
  • The IANPHI Strategic Vision 2026–2030, setting priorities around institutional strengthening, partnerships, and global public health challenges

An additional vote was held to fill a remaining IANPHI Executive Board seat following the December 2025 IANPHI General Assembly. As no candidate reached the required majority, the position remains vacant and will be filled at a future Assembly.

Members were also presented with the 2025 IANPHI Annual Progress Report, highlighting continued collaboration, strengthened peer exchange, and progress in areas such as emergency preparedness and capacity building.

The assembly concluded with key announcements, including ongoing work by thematic committees, development of a new IANPHI website, and confirmation that the IANPHI Annual Meeting in Dubai has been rescheduled to November 2026.
