Dr. Fernando de la Hoz became the new Director General of the National Health Institute Columbia (INS) in March of 2013. Fernando de la Hoz has a master's degree in epidemiology from the University of Vallee and holds a PhD in infectious disease epidemiology from the University of London. He is also A field epidemiologist in the Applied Epidemiology Program at National Institute of Health.

Before taking the position as Director General, Fernando de la Hoz held a position as professor at the Columbian National University’s School of Medicine in the Department of Public Health. He still maintains this position today. Fernando de la Hoz has published over 25 scientific articles, has received numerous awards and distinctions for his work in public health and science and is a member of several scientific societies.
