Macedonia: Transforming NPHI Capacity

As with other countries in the Balkan region, Macedonia has experienced significant disruptions to its public health system and decentralization of core public health functions. To reverse these trends, the country is engaging in an extensive effort to reevaluate, reconfigure, and mondernize the public health system, beginning with strengthening of the NPHI.

The IANPHI grant will help in developing and implementing a public health reform strategy based on core public health functions and evidence-based planning and programs. The project will support Macedonia’s integration into the global public health network and help revitalize the country’s public health infrastructure.
