In conjunction with IANPHI project work, I-TECH’s Malawi office is currently in need of a Senior Technical Assistant. This purpose of this position is to assist in the development of the Public Health Institute of Malawi (PHIM), a newly formed public trust mandated to provide national leadership in communicable and non-communicable epidemiological surveillance, public health research, and prevention and control of diseases of major public health importance. The PHIM will collate, analyze and interpret real time public health data to provide scientific and technical guidance to the Ministry of Health (MOH) and other stakeholders for evidence informed public health policy development and in formulation of public health interventions.Required credentials for this position are a Master’s Degree in a public health discipline and a minimum of five years of demonstrable experience working in a public health oriented organization. The incumbent should have familiarity with the functions and operations of public health institutes, demonstrate a track record in institutional development, strong management and leadership skills, team management and team building skills, and project management, resource gap analysis and resource mobilization. Must have experience working in a public sector environment, excellent written and oral communications skills, strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrated experience building relationships with diverse stakeholders.If you have the required training, expertise, and experience, and would like to join I-TECH in this vital work, we encourage you to apply!
