Cote D'Ivoire's National Institute of Public Health, founded in 1970, has helped train many of the country's specialists in public health and contributed to national health research and policy.
During the first 25 years of its existence, the National Public Health Institute conducted over 400 projects. The insitute is responsible for training health care personnel and teaching public health at universities and graduate schools.
Currently, the National Institute of Public Health is working to return to full capacity after a difficult political and economic period in the country's history. It has recently developed a new strategic plan that would help the NPHI improve the nation's health.
