Becoming a Member
Membership criteriaIANPHI has two membership categories:
Institutional Member: Those qualified for institutional membership are NPHIs that conduct public health functions, as defined in the NPHI Framework. The Secretariat will determine an applicant's eligibility based upon how fully the organization meets the criteria in the IANPHI Framework.
In countries with two or more institutes with NPHI functions, two institutes may be accepted as institutional members. However, only one member will have voting status.
Associate Member: An associate member is an institute or organization from a country that does not currently have an NPHI but has potential for NPHI creation or has been designated as a potential NPHI by the national government.
Application process
Organizations interested in membership should complete a membership application form and an NPHI survey form. Completed forms should be sent to Pekka Jousilahti, IANPHI secretary general, at pekka.jousilahti@thl.fi.
Applications are reviewed by the Secretariat, which makes recommendations to the Executive Board based on the information provided by the applicant. Membership requests approved by the Executive Board are then voted on at the next General Assembly.
